Exchange of sweets between soldiers of India and China for Diwali

Delhi Army, return of the ceremony after border agreements

Indian and Chinese soldiers exchanged sweets at five points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) that marks the border between the two countries, on the occasion of the Indian festival of Diwali. An Indian Army source confirmed this, underlining that the custom was resumed a few hours after the conclusion of the dismantling, by both sides, of the positions set up after the clashes in the summer of 2020.

The Indian army also announced that the commanders of the troops stationed in the area will resume meetings in the next few hours to agree on the modalities of the patrolling operations interrupted during the period of stalemate that followed the clashes.
