Yoon, 'my martial law act of government, not rebellion'

South Korean President on TV: ‘Opposition paralyzes Parliament’

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, in a new televised message to the nation, defended his martial law decree as an act of government and denied accusations of rebellion. “My attempt at martial law cannot be considered an insurrection: it is an act of the government administration and is not subject to judicial examination”, said Yoon in view of the new impeachment motion that the opposition led by the Democratic party has called prepared to present in Parliament. “The opposition paralyzes state affairs and abuses impeachment” in Parliament, added Yoon.
