‘Stable, healthy and sustainable ties in line with common interests’
Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election as US president, hoping that Beijing and Washington will find the right path “to get along in the new era” and to manage “differences appropriately”.
Xi stressed that “history shows us that China and the United States can gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation.” A “stable, healthy and sustainable Sino-American relationship is in line with the common interests of both countries and with the expectations of the international community”, added the Chinese president, congratulating Trump on his victory in the US vote.
