China to Trump, 'no winner from a trade war'

‘And it wouldn’t be good for the whole world’

China has warned that there would be no winner from a Beijing-Washington trade war after the re-election to the White House of Donald Trump, the promoter of an election campaign in which he promised 60% tariffs on all goods made in China towards the USA.

“As a matter of principle, I would like to reiterate that there would be no winners in a trade war, which is not good for the whole world,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.
