Towards the first time together of the leaders Pyongyang-Mosca-pechino
The train with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on board entered China, reported the South Korean news agency Yonhap this morning, citing the state radio of Pyongyang.
It is a rare journey out of North Korea for Kim, one of the 26 heads of state that will take part in the military parade scheduled for today in Beijing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in the Second World War.
The diplomatic raid will mark the first time that Kim, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Chinese XI Jinping will participate in the same event. The presence of the leader of Pyongyang “publicly formalizes the trilateral relationship-Russia-Corea relationship of the North”, according to Soo Kim, a consultant for geopolitical risks and former CIA analyst. Yesterday the Chinese and Russian presidents took turns to attack the West during a meeting of Eurasian leader in Tianjin, south of Beijing. The organization for the cooperation of Shanghai (SCO) presents itself as a model of non -western collaboration between 10 countries in the region and tries to represent an alternative to traditional alliances. Kim had a short period of high international diplomatic profile around 2018, meeting the American president Donald Trump several times and then the South Korean one Moon Jae-in. But he retired from the global scene after the failure of a summit with Trump in Hanoi in Vietnam in 2019. Kim remained in North Korea during the Covid-19 pandemic, but he met Putin in the Far East Russian in 2023.
