Shortly before the impeachment vote promoted by the opposition
The South Korean Finance Minister Choi Sang-Mok resigned today, just before the national assembly presented a motion of impeachment against him.
This was reported by the Yonhap agency citing a note from the same Ministry of Economy as Seul.
The Motion of Impeachment, promoted by the main opposition party, the Democratic Party (DP), accused Choi, who at the time held the position of President to Interim, of having, among the other accusations, delayed the appointment of the ninth judge of the Constitutional Court.
Choi – recalls the Yonaph – should have taken on the position of interim president starting from midnight, after the resignation of the president to Interim and outgoing prime minister Han Duck -Soo, who should apply for the presidential elections of June.
