A snake knocks down tokyo-meka high-speed trains

The Shinkansen tokaido blocked, reptile caused a blackout

One of the busiest high -speed railway lines in Japan stopped after a snake got caught in an electrical line, causing a current interruption. The BBC reports by stressing that the Tokaido Shinkansen trains, in service between Tokyo and Osaka, were forced to stop for almost two hours yesterday.

The episode happened during the Golden Week which includes four national holidays in seven days and which historically records one of the peaks of travel with trains and planes towards tourist resorts.
