South Korea, at least 47 killed in plane crash

Two people rescued. Bird strike accident

The death toll from the plane crash that occurred this morning in an airport in South Korea has risen to at least 47, with two people rescued. The Yonhap news agency reported it, citing rescuers.

The cause of the accident was believed to be a failure of the aircraft’s undercarriage, which did not open following the impact with birds during landing.

The passengers on board the plane were 173 Koreans and two Thais. Six crew members were also part of the flight, for a total of 181 people on board.
