Movement of the Prosecutor who investigates the martial law of the end of 2024

The special prosecutor of South Korea has today the arrest of the former President Yoon Suk-Yeol on charges of obstacle to special official functions and for other charges relating to his short imposition of martial law of 3 December. Yoon, arrested for the first time and offended in January for guiding an insurrection, was released in March and officially removed the beginning of April with the green light of the Constitutional Court to the impeachment procedure.

After the settlement of President Lee Jae -myung, in early June, special prosecutors were appointed who started an independent investigation from the government, in the efforts to reconstruct the events of December. The Prosecutor’s Office requested on Sunday a arrest warrant for Yoon, claiming that he had ordered the presidential security services to block his detention already in January, rejecting several attempts made by the police. A Court of Seoul reported this morning that he had issued a arrest warrant after the interrogation of Yoon, motivating the restrictive measure with the risk of destruction of the tests. The former National Cape Product, which later became a politician, denied the accusations, accusing the investigation of being false and based on political reasons.

Seu’s media said that Yoon would also order the army of his country last October to send drones to North Korea, part of a plan to cause an attack from abroad and to justify the imposition of martial law.
