Singapore has adopted the Diodon drone, an innovative French-made device, to strengthen maritime security operations.
With a range of approximately 4 km, the Diodon is now an integral part of the operations of the Maritime Security Task Force (Sts), the unit responsible for ensuring the protection of Singapore’s waters.
The city-state constantly monitors its waters to prevent activities such as piracy, smuggling and potential terrorist threats, given its strategic location along global trade routes. The real-time footage provided by the drone improves the tactical awareness of STS commanders, optimizing their decisions and supporting the divers’ underwater operations.
