Technological cooperation in Southeast Asia is strengthened
“From today, the advanced technology and experience of Leonardo, an Italian industrial leader in the high-tech sector, are officially available to Vietnam, a nation that is playing a fundamental role in the technological transformation of Southeast Asia.”
With these words Stefano Pontecorvo, president of Leonardo, officially inaugurated the company’s representative office in Hanoi. Present were the Ambassador of Vietnam to Italy, Duong Hai Hung, and the Ambassador of Italy to Vietnam, Marco della Seta.
Leonardo is an international industrial group with over 53,000 employees worldwide, a significant industrial presence in Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland and the United States and operates in 150 countries also through subsidiaries, joint ventures and shareholdings. Protagonist of the main international strategic programs, it is a technological and industrial partner of governments, institutions and businesses. In 2023 it recorded consolidated revenues of 15.3 billion euros and new orders of 17.9 billion.
The technology of Leonardo and its subsidiaries and affiliates is already present in Vietnam in various fields such as helicopters and space and saw the company participate in the latest edition of the Vietnam International Defense Expo held in Hanoi from 19 to 22 December.
The opening of the new office in Vietnam represents a further step in strengthening Leonardo’s presence in Asia, intended to intensify collaboration with local partners, encourage the development of new technological opportunities and offer concrete support for the development of strategic infrastructures for the country.
