ISIS claims the attack on the Islamic seminar in Pakistan

Five dead including the head of the religious party

The Islamic State of the province of Khorasan (ISKP) claimed the responsibility of the suicide attack during the Friday prayers in Darul Uuloom Haqqania, an important Islamic seminar in north-western Pakistan, who killed at least 5 people and wounds 17. Among the victims there was the religious head Hamid-Ul-Haq, deputy curator of the Seminary and leader of the Jamiat party Ulema-E-Islam, which served in the Pakistan National Assembly from 2002 to 2007.

In a declaration on affiliated channels on social media, the Iskp states that “anyone who has supported infidelity and apostates in the land of Khorasan should be prepared for their destiny because everyone will be held responsible”.

Darul Uuloom Haqqania, one of the greatest Islamic seminars in Pakistan, has formed thousands of students from Pakistan and Afghanistan, including several Afghan Taliban leaders.

The seminar follows the deobandi school of thought, while Iskp adheres to the rigid Salafita ideology that increasingly aims of scholars and political figures of the Pakistan.
