India: services reactivated, cyclone Dana passes without causing any victims

Rain and wind persist in the area

Flights have been reactivated and trains are running again in the Indian states of West Bengal and Orissa, after Cyclone Dana made landfall shortly after midnight on the northern coast of Orissa, with winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour.

The governor (Chief minister) of Orissa Mohan Charan Majhi in a message on X said that the passage of the cyclone caused no victims.

Majhi complimented the Civil Protection which set up more than 5 thousand emergency shelters in good time and evacuated over a million people from risk areas, while around 4 thousand pregnant women were placed in safety in hospitals. Rain and wind persist in the area.
