Ten public figures appointed testimonials of the initiative

India declares war on obesity: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today has appointed ten eminent public figures as a testimonial of the campaign against excess fat and the exaggerated presence of vegetable oils in the kitchen.

The premier announced the initiative from his accont on X, after anticipating it yesterday during his monthly radio broadcast.

The testimonials will have the task of motivating the Indians to a 10 percent reduction in the consumption of fats in daily nutrition: among them the Chief Minister of the State of Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, the president of the industrial group Mahindra, Anand Mahindra, L stands out among them Mirabai Chanu weight lifter athlete, actor Mohanlal.

According to a recent study by the Indian Council of Medical Research, 56.4% of the total diseases in India derives from incorrect eating habits, which also see a growing consumption of industrial products, very rich in fats and sugars.
