The rescuers dig tullers in the rubble
The budget of the violent 7.7 magnitude earthquake which hit Myanmar yesterday rose to over 1,000 deaths and 2,300 injured, announced the junta of the Asian country.
The rescuers carved over hours between the rubble of the collapsed buildings, in a desperate search for survivors. The earthquake destroyed buildings, demolished bridges and bent streets in large areas of Myanmar, with a massive destruction in Mandalay, the second largest city in the Asian country and which houses over 1.7 million people. At least 1,002 people were killed and almost 2,400 injuries in Myanmar, today said the junta in power in a declaration. About 10 other victims have been confirmed in Bangkok, Thailand. But with seriously interrupted communications, the real scope of the disaster is only starting to emerge from the cold state governed by the military and it is expected that the budget will increase significantly.
