China, 'we will defend our companies after EU tariffs on e-cars'

Beijing ‘does not agree or does not accept, complained to WTO’

Beijing “does not agree or does not accept” the new EU duties on e-cars made in China to close anti-subsidy investigations which have highlighted critical issues affecting European car manufacturers. “China does not agree or accept the decision and has filed a complaint under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism,” a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said, for which China “will take all necessary measures to firmly protect the legitimate rights and interests of its companies”, while noting that the EU will continue “consultations with China on the price undertaking plan”.
