China has insisted that growing ties between Pyongyang and Moscow are not of its concern, after the United States warned that up to 8,000 North Korean soldiers have reached Russia’s border region, trained and ready to fight against the ‘Ukraine. “North Korea and Russia are two independent sovereign states. How they develop bilateral relations is their own matter,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian noted on this point, speaking during the daily briefing.
