China asks the USA to immediately cancel the duties and dialogue

Beijing threatens countermeasures, ‘global economy at risk’

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce today asked Washington to “immediately cancel” the new duties, warning that “they endanger the global economic development” and would damage the interests of the United States and international supply chains.

“China urges the US to immediately cancel the unilateral tariff measures and adequately resolve divergences with commercial partners through an equal dialogue,” said Beijing’s department by adding that “there is no winner in a commercial war and there is no way out for the protectionism” China has declared to “oppose firmly” to the imposition of new uses on its exports, “countermeasures to safeguard their rights and interests”.

The American rates “are not compliant with the rules of international trade and seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of the parties involved,” said Beijing Ministry of Commerce in a note.
