Beijing, 'On Tiktok solution respectful of Chinese laws'

‘Earning of interests and negotiations based on market rules’

Beijing “respects the will of companies and encourages them to commit themselves to commercial negotiations based on market rules to achieve solutions compliant with Chinese laws and regulations and achieve a balance of interest”. This is what a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce on the Tiktok issue said, replicating the request to provide further details on the progress made on the dossier in the interviews between China and the USA. “We hope – added the spokesperson in the Die Media State Report – that the United States collaborate with China in the same direction and faithfully respect their commitments”.

Beijing also hopes that the US “provide an open, right, fair and non -discriminatory commercial environment for the continuous activity of Chinese companies, including Tiktok, in the United States”, in order to “promote a stable, healthy and sustainable development of economic and commercial relations” between the two parts.

The spokesman recalled the interviews of Madrid of 14-15 September, where the delegations of the two parties reached a basic consent on the resolution of the issues relating to Tiktok through “cooperation, the reduction of investments and the promotion of economic and commercial cooperation”.

Finally on Friday evening the phone call between the presidents Xi Jinping and Donald Trump allowed “a sincere and deepened exchange of opinions on current bilateral relationships and on mutual interest issues, providing the strategic indications for the stable development of bilateral relationships in the next phase”.
