Beijing confirmed the forced repatriation from Thailand of 40 Uyalian asylum seekers of Uigura detained for more than ten years in a Bangkok immigration center. The move denounced the activists for human rights, exposes people interested in torture risk on the return to the People’s Republic.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, however, it was “a coordinated effort against cross -border crime” to “safeguard the legitimate rights of Chinese citizens” thanks to an operation conducted in accordance with the mandarins and Thai laws, international regulations and consolidated practices. In short, “an example of collaboration in progress between the two nations to face transnational criminal activities”.

A high official of the ministry reported Xinhua, explained that the repatriated people had been deceived by criminal organizations to illegally cross the borders, finally ending up blocked in Thailand.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees said was “deeply sorry for the forced transfer” of about forty Uiguri by the Thai authorities. “This is a clear violation of the principle of non -rejection and obligations of the Thai Royal Government pursuant to international law,” he sentenced Menikdiwela, deputy high commissioner for protection in a well -known Ruventrini.

“The transfer of Uiguri in China by Thailand is a flagrant violation of Thailand’s obligations pursuant to internal and international law,” said Elaine Pearson, director for Asia of Human Rights Watch.
