The death toll caused by the eruption of the Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano in eastern Indonesia has risen to 10: this was announced by the spokesperson of the national disaster management agency, Abdul Muhari. The eruption hit seven villages.
Spokesman for the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, Hadi Wijaya, said the lava and hot rocks hit settlements closest to the crater – about four kilometers away – burning and damaging residents’ homes.
