Accelerates the transition with the ‘swap power’ for the scooters
In Vietnam the transition to electric mobility is in acceleration thanks to the spread of the “swap power”, that is, the rapid exchange of electric scooters batteries, considered a valid alternative to slow charging, promising greater practicality and time saving for users.
Although two -wheeled electric vehicles still represent a modest share of the market, the density of the exchange stations is proposed as a decisive element in the choices of consumers, especially in high density urban centers.
It is these days, reports Vietnam News, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between V-Green and FPT Retail for the installation of charging columns and lockers for the exchange of batteries dedicated to electric motor mopes of the VIINFAST builder Vinfast at the FPT Shop points of sale.
Operations in over 600 points is scheduled from November 2025.
V-GEN, with a park of 150,000 charging points for cars and motorcycles distributed in 34 provinces, also intends to extend the system of batteries replaceable for scooters, with the aim of creating 150,000 swap points in the next three years.
Vinfast, for its part, has announced the marketing of electric scooters with removable batteries and the start of a thousand exchange stations starting from October.
