Vespucci enchants Singapore, in the media the 'ship of another era'

The Navy sailing ship featured in newspapers and social media

“A ship from another era”, “symbol of Italy” and “ambassador of Made in Italy in the world”. Singapore’s main newspapers celebrate the arrival in the city-state of the Amerigo Vespucci, the Navy training ship that has been docked for two days as part of the world tour that started in July 2023 from Genoa. The photo of the sailing ship illuminated with the tricolor enriches the pages of the most important local newspapers, from Lianhe Zaobao (the main Chinese-language newspaper) to the Straits Times (the main English-language newspaper). But the videos and images of the ‘most beautiful ship in the world’ are also popular on social media, including that of Time Out Singapore, the international travel magazine considered the bible of “useful advice” for tourists.

The media retrace the stages of the Vespucci’s world tour, telling the story of the sailing ship launched in 1931 and focusing on the details that enrich the visit on board for tourists, from the brasses to the wooden walls, from the peaks to the “majestic trees that soar towards the sky”. There will also be space at the Villaggio Italia, the traveling expo that accompanies the Vespucci in the main stages of its journey. From immersive exhibitions to conferences, from the ANSA Forum to film screenings, the media highlight the close relationship between the two countries and the importance of Made in Italy in Southeast Asia, in continuous and constant development.
