South Korea, 'special inspections' on all Boeing 737-800s

The government plans checks after the tragic plane crash

South Korea announced today that it is considering “special inspections” of all Boeing 737-800 planes operating in the Asian country, following the deaths of 179 people yesterday in the crash of a flight of the same model.

In total “101 B737-800 aircraft are currently operating in South Korea. We are therefore examining options to conduct special inspections” on these models, head of the bureau responsible for aviation for the South Korean Ministry of Transport Joo Jong told reporters -wan.
