Mount Kumgang Reunion Center a symbol of the whole dialogue
North Korea started the demolition of the structure in the Tourist area of Kumgang intended for the meetings between the separate Korean families between North and South following the bloody Korean war (1950-53).
The Yonhap reports, according to which the Ministry of Unification of Seoul, which has in charge of the relations with Pyongyang, asked for “the immediate stop” of the operations against one of the last symbols of bilateral dialogue. “The demolition of the Mount Kumgang Reunion Center is an inhuman act that tramples the sincere wishes of the separate families,” said a spokesman for the ministry, expressing “strong regret”.
