Seoul, ruling party puts Yoon 'under guardianship'

‘President excluded from state affairs, including diplomacy’

The People Power Party, the ruling party in South Korea, has placed President Yoon Suk-yeol ‘under guardianship’ who will no longer take part in state affairs, including diplomacy, even before his “orderly” and “early” departure ” compared to the duration of the mandate.

Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, the same as Yoon, promised in a joint note with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo “a strict and transparent investigation” into the chaos generated by martial law (which Yoon survived yesterday at an impeachment motion) and to hold regular talks with the prime minister to prevent potential administrative gaps.
