Alta Corte Scagiona Lee Jae-myung, will be able to run to the presidential elections
Seoul’s Alta Court canceled the prison sentence suspended against the leader of the opposition Lee Ja-Myung, head of the Democratic Party, for having lied as a candidate for the presidential elections of 2022, scagion by charging him.
The decision, reported by Yonhap, removes a legal obstacle for Lee in view of its expected race to the next presidential elections, in which she would participate as a favorite. The elections could be held very soon, within 60 days, in the event that the Constitutional Court confirmed the impeachment of the suspended President Yoon Suk-Yeol for the events of the martial law of December 3.
