Premier Japan in Trump, 'Security not connected to duties'

Ishiba, “ready to review non -tariff barriers on cars”

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said that his government will not include discussions on safety in commercial interviews with the United States. In this regard, US President Donald Trump asked to reduce the US burden in the defense of Japan. The Yonhap agency reports it.

“I don’t think it is appropriate to discuss security and trade together. We should face the security issues without connecting them to the duties,” Ishiba said in a television program. Then he said he believed that reducing the commercial deficit of the United States with other countries is the highest priority of Trump, committing himself to reviewing the non -tariff barriers of Japan for cars in order to advance negotiations with the United States.
