For his speech during the recent Indo-Pachistana crisis
The government of Pakistan has formally recommended the President of the United States Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026, citing his “decisive diplomatic intervention” during the recent Indo-Pakistani crisis.
In a declaration issued on X, the government attributed to Trump the merit of having prevented a wider conflict between the two states with nuclear weapons, defining his actions “a testimony of his role as authentic peacemaker”.
“President Trump has shown great strategic foresight and an extraordinary political ability”, reads the declaration, adding that his efforts “finally guaranteed a ceased and averted a wider conflict that would have had catastrophic consequences for millions of people”.
Pakistan also praised Trump’s “sincere offers to help resolve the long -standing dispute of Jammu and Kashmir”, reiterating that “a lasting peace in southern Asia would remain unreachable” without a solution based on the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
The announcement came following a meeting between the Pakistani Army Chief of Staff, Campo Asim Munir, and Trump at the White House last Thursday. In the two -hour interview, both leaders had explored a wider cooperation in sectors such as trade, energy and emerging technologies. Munir also invited Trump to visit Pakistan, according to the army declaration.
