The comment after the talks in Switzerland on the duties
China’s interviews on the commercial dossier with the USA in progress in Geneva are an “important step” for a response to the problems between Beijing and Washington.
“Contact in Switzerland is an important step to promote the resolution of the matter,” reported the Xinhua state agency in a comment, without providing further details on the status of negotiations. The tones, however, confirm a change in Chinese narrative, anticipated by the motivations of the past few days that pushed Beijing to engage in a comparison with Washington in spite of the outrageist posture “of struggle until the end”.
