Identified 47 victims of the air incident in India

24 bodies delivered to family members, today the funeral in Ahmedabad

Three days after the crash of an Air India plane directed to London by Ahmedabad, the Indian authorities said they have identified only 47 victims of the almost 300 estimated by DNA tests, and only 24 bodies were delivered to their respective families. Hindu funeral rites were held today in the capital of Gujarat, while the relatives of the deaths not yet identified complain of poor assistance from the authorities. Many of the bodies of the victims are charred and the authorities are performing DNA tests on the remains to establish the identity of the victims of the tragedy. This was reported by the Indian agency PTI citing an official.

All 242 people, including passengers and crew members, aboard Boeing 787-8 (AI171) died, except for a survivor. At least 29 people, including five students, were killed on the ground on the impact site, the campus of a medical faculty in Meghaninagar.

Two separate investigations will try to identify the causes of the accident, one of the government and one of the aeronautical authorities. In the center, the examination of the black box of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner of Air India, recovered on Friday.
