‘We are part of it. Support for efforts for peaceful solution ‘
China “did not create the crisis in Ukraine, nor is it part of the crisis”. So the spokesperson for Foreign Minister Lin Jian, replied to a question if Beijing will send Peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. “We support all favorable efforts to a peaceful resolution of the crisis and we expect the interested parties to find a sustainable and lasting solution that faces mutual concerns,” added Lin in daily briefing, according to Chinese state media.
As for the judgments expressed by the US President Donald Trump last Friday at the White House, according to which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was “playing with the third world war” and “he was not ready for peace”, Lin observed that he had “taken note of the relevant relationships”.
China, the spokesman concluded, “will continue to play a constructive role in the political resolution of the Ukrainian crisis and in the realization of peace”.
