China has accused the US of “malevolent attacks” on the Panama channel, after the secretary of American defense Pete Hegseth said that Beijing is putting at risk the operations of the main and strategic water route connecting the Pacific and the Atlantic. “High American officials have miscalciously attacked China, defaming and undermining China-Panama cooperation, once again exposing the domineering nature of the United States,” said the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian.
