‘China and USA are not making negotiations on duties’
Beijing insists that recent “recent phone calls” took place between President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart, after Donald Trump claimed to have spoken with the Chinese leader. “As far as I know, there was no phone call between the two chiefs of state recently,” said the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Guo Jiakun. “China and the United States are not conducting consultations or negotiations on tariff issues,” he added.
