Bad weather in Japan, at least 2 deaths in the Kyushu region

There are numerous disperses because of the landslides and floods

At least two people died due to the floods caused by bad weather in southwestern Japan, for several days beaten by strong torrential rains. The National Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a special alert for some areas of the Kumamoto Prefecture, inviting residents of the areas affected to remain alarm. According to the local police, the death of a woman in Trentino in the city of Aira was confirmed after her house collapsed due to a landslide caused by the strong rains. In Yatsushus, another woman was found inside a car fall into an irrigation channel. Also in the prefecture of Kumamoto, a man who was evacuating with his family disappeared after their car was overwhelmed by a landslide in the city of Kosa. Other people hit by landslides who swept via houses and cars were reported in the nearby prefecture of Fukuoka. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba declared that the government is “committed to implementing all the necessary measures to prevent further natural catastrophes”, while exhorting residents to remain vigilant.

The rail operator Jr Kyushu, who serves the south-west of Japan, said he suspended all the services of the shinkansen fast trains from the beginning of the operations in the morning, but to have then taken them again in the afternoon. According to the meteorological agency, the town of Tamana, in the prefecture of Kumamoto, recorded 370 millimeters of rain in six hours until the early hours of Monday, almost double the average of the rainfall of the city throughout the month of August.
