Hundreds of families abandoned their homes
At least five people have died in the last 24 hours due to the monsical rains that hit the north-east of India causing landslides and floods: the competent authorities have announced it today.
These are the first victims of this season of torrential rains, which from June to September kills dozens of people every year throughout the country.
The five deaths were recorded in the state of Assam, announced the state authority for the management of disasters (the Assam State Disaster Management Authority). The capital of the state, Guwahati, was particularly affected and the authorities interrupted the electrical disbursement due to the flooding in different districts that forced hundreds of families to abandon their homes.
