Almost 300 deaths in Pakistan from June to Monsonic rains

The strong rains damaged at least 1600 homes

The National Agency for the management of disasters in Pakistan has announced that the monsical rains in progress in the country have killed almost 300 people and have wounds 700 since the end of June. The national authority for the management of disasters (Ndma) said that at least 6 people have died and 2 others have remained injured only in the last 24 hours.

Between June 26 and July 31, a total of 295 people died and 700 were injured due to torrential rains, sudden floods, collapses and accidental electricity discharges, according to the NDMA data. Among the dead there are 138 children, while 236 children are among the injured.

The Punjab is the most affected province, with 162 dead and 558 injured. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa follows with 66 deaths and 81 injured, while the Sindh recorded 28 victims and 40 injured.

The strong rains damaged at least 1600 houses, of which 542 completely destroyed. 376 cattle deaths have also been reported. The authorities warned that further rainfall in the next few days are planned and have urged the residents of the vulnerable areas to take precautionary measures.
