The image follows the one with the rifle, fueling the succession rumors

North Korean media have released an image of leader Kim Jong-Un’s teenage daughter firing a pistol, just weeks after photos showed her firing a rifle.

The snapshots fuel speculation that she has been chosen as heir. Kim’s teenage daughter, Ju Ae, appeared prominently in state photos released to mark the final stage of the congress of the Workers’ Party, the country’s main ruling party, which was held last month. She has long been tipped to be the country’s next leader, a perception fueled by a series of recent high-profile appearances, as well as a rare image released late last month of her firing a rifle at a shooting range. Pyongyang’s state media released an image of Ju Ae firing what appears to be a gun with one eye closed, while flames erupt from the barrel of the weapon. According to Pyongyang’s official news agency, the Korean Central News Agency, the young woman was attending an event with her father at a “large ammunition factory” that produces new guns and other “portable light weapons”. State media images show the pair, dressed in matching leather jackets – often seen as a symbol of power in North Korea – being briefed by officials during an inspection of the facility.
