Finance Minister of Palestine visits Singapore

Cooperation between the two countries, focus on economy and aid

Palestine’s Finance Minister, Estephan Salameh, is currently on an official visit to Singapore until next Thursday, at the invitation of Foreign Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan. According to an official statement, the visit highlights the cordial bilateral ties with the Palestinian Authority and reaffirms Singapore’s continued commitment to supporting its institutional capacity-building efforts.

Already last November, Singapore announced its willingness to support Palestine in consolidating the path towards sustainable peace. During his visit to Ramallah, Minister Balakrishnan anticipated the launch of two training programs for 2026 focused on digital economy and entrepreneurship. These initiatives fall within the framework of the Enhanced Technical Assistance Package, the long-term program dedicated to developing the Palestinian Authority’s capabilities. In addition to digital training, the Singapore government plans to offer scholarships and internship programs for young Palestinian officials, aimed at sharing best practices in public governance and water management. Diplomatically, Singapore continues to strongly support a negotiated two-state solution, offering its technical contributions to prepare Palestinian institutions for a stable and resilient future state governance. Singapore continues to support the Palestinian population by sending essential humanitarian aid, collaborating with international organizations to ensure that basic necessities and medical supplies reach the most affected civilians.
